so my daughter is looking at going to uni next year.
she would love to do illustrations for either books,, films, wallpaper, cards etc and is also interested in graphic design and animation and she’s good at English too so could be a childrens author/illustrator.

what degree course do you suggest and which university?

Is she in upper sixth now? Is she thinking of doing a foundation year? Many art universities recommend doing one, but it's not essential. She will get in on the strength of her portfolio (for foundation and degree) rather than grades, though some universities that offer creative degrees will expect decent A levels ( like University of Edinburgh).
As for recommending particular universities- well it all depends on where, if she wants to do animation or graphics or animation (they are separate degrees, though some places like Kingston University do an Illustration Animation degree).
Her school should be helping her, as if she is thinking entry september 2023 she will be applying as early as December, though final deadlines are January/February for most, and she needs to get her personal statement and portfolio in order.
If it's foundation you apply to individual courses, if a degree (and some incorporate a foundation year/year zero) it will be applying through UCAS.
My daughter is interested in 2D animation and is planning on a foundation year first, then is looking at University Arts Bournemouth, Falmouth, University of Hertfordshire (one of the best animation degree programs in the world according to Rookies, and consequently very competitive), to name a few. But there are dozens and dozens of degree courses out there. She needs to do some online research to narrow down the degrees that appeal to her and also if she needs/wants to do a foundation year.

Sorry if she wants to do illustration or graphics or animation it should have read

As others have said, she needs to do more research and narrow it down to individual courses.
What are her predicted A level grades? This will also affect where she applies if she wants to go to a good university.
DS wanted to do Graphic Design and got offers from Loughborough, Leeds and Reading who all had a good reputation for Graphic Design. He changed his mind though and reapplied after a gap year for something totally different!
