Positive for covid night before A level exam

DC 18 felt a bit rubbish with a headache and tired, did a lateral flow test and it's positive. Triple vacc'd, not had it before.
Due to sit an A level exam tomorrow at large FE college. We've emailed college but they won't respond until the morning. Anyone know what advice we might be given? Will they be able to attend the exam?
Gov advice says advice is to isolate for three days but now there's no legal req isolate, wondering what college will say.
Any thoughts from those in the know?

The school told ours not to test before an exam! If they have mild or no symptoms they are fine to come in - they are sat apart in the exam room anyway, further apart than they have been in school for the past year! No different to having a cold. If they are really ill from it then they won't be able to sit the exam and will get special consideration.

How is your son now?

Gherkingreen · 27/05/2022 19:25

@jadedagain he's very tired, has cold symptoms and a headache, his temp is normal now but he's off food (yikes!) but he'll be fine. Thanks for asking 🙂.
He's bored and fed up of being in his room, but we're trying to stay apart to avoid us or other DS getting it.

Such bad timing. I hope he gets better soon and the rest of you stay well
