This is a thread for supporting all young people post GCSEs 2020, regardless of their educational setting. It is respectfully requested that all are supportive and helpful to each other. If you want to start a debate, e.g state vs private, please don't within this thread. Please also be sensitive when responding to threads about grades.

Some of us have been here since first thread back in yr10, some will be new. Everyone has been friendly and helpful in the past. Everyone is welcome. It is hoped this will continue.

Our DS/DD may go down various paths (such as employment, apprenticeships, higher ed) We have decided for anyone interested they will most likely find us within the Further Ed board.

Seeline Frenchay campus would be where DD would be too. Lovely to hear your DS is having a great time there. It's one Uni we haven't visited in person so would need to do that on an offer holder day - assume they'll be one. Is there a train / coach station close to the Uni site?

Fingers crossed for some good news soon Hatti. It's so stressful waiting to hear and so devastating when you do hear and it's not what you wanted to hear. Hope the chemistry mock went well today.

@AnneOfCleavage I don't think there is a mainline train station nearby, but there are buses from the city centre to campus. It's only a short drive in an Uber as well .
There is a Megabus coach stop actually on campus. DS thinks National Express stop there too, but hasn't managed to actually book one that does yet! Megabus are very cheap though.
DS was invited to an offer holder's day in March 2020 - it was the last thing we did before lockdown! Hopefully your DDs department does the same. If you need to stay overnight, there is a nice Holiday Inn Express virtually opposite the campus, near the big Sainsbury's 🙂

I know @Monkey2001 such a tough journey though. I followed your DS1's process to Medicine. Our DS applied to Medicine two years ago, but was lucky enough to get three interviews followed by three offers. However, I am sure that DD has worked damn harder for her place than DS never did.
