Selecting subjects for GCSE

My son is interested in doing computing engineering, which all subjects shall he select in Year 9 for GCSE.
Selecting French for GCSE makes it low scoring and affects his admission for computer engineering.
Which all subject shall he select for GCSE so that he scores well.

What other subjects is he thinking of taking and has he had a look at Uni courses to see what the admission criteria is?

He does not need vocational gcses, just a selection of subjects at good grades. What are you looking at that suggests no mfl? What is the computer engineering course he is considering ?

We can't tell you which subjects your DS will score well in for GCSE, it depends on his strengths.
He should do things he enjoys & is good at.
Then fill any remaining slots with things he is good at and can tolerate, or things he enjoys and won't fail at.
A poor MFL result shouldn't impact admission to any university course, they tend to look at 'best 8', if they look at them at all.
