Taster day

DS has been invited to a taster day for the 6th form college he has applied for, great but you have to buy a ticket for £10. Is this normal? I know it's only a tenner but it just feels a bit off!!

It's not something I've ever come across.
Generally, 6th Forms are trying to 'sell themselves' not charge people to go.
I hope it isn't something that takes off - yet another barrier for those families without disposable income. Sad

What? Never heard of such a thing!

Absolutely not normal and how discriminatory.

I can't help thinking that charging for a taster day will put off prospective students. They want as many students to choose them as possible don't they?
