How do I regain basic writing english language skills again....

I have a career but now my youngest has left for uni, im thinking of going ot uni again too. Ive studied on and off becasue of the job I do and not phased by going back. However my English written language has gone down hill massively. The job I do means I write lots but it has to be factual and almost bullet point esq. When I try to write anything normally, it comes out as stunted, grammer in the wrong place.....just not degree worthy.

Do i go to college to lean English language skills again? do uni's have english language basic courses. Its really becoming an obstacle lol

Any advice welcomed

You should think about how children are taught - they read read read. Can you read more and notice how things are spelled and get a feel for proper grammar?

Reading and practice. I have to write a lot for my job, and I can honestly say that my writing skills have imrpoved hugely in the last 15 years.

Lots of universities have programs for adult learners to brush up on their academic skills either before applying or before your course starts. I’d look on the websites of the unis your interested in to see what’s available. Good luck

FutureLearn does English for Academic writing.

Look at something like Grammarly? It's an add on for your browser/word processor etc which helps you improve your writing. Over time it would become second nature.

I agree also with looking at university adult learner courses or local FE colleges. They often do evening courses in this kind of thing. Even OU?
