Uni accommodation

Hi there
My daughters Uni has closed for the foreseeable and she has cleared her room. Even though students have been advised to clear their rooms as there will be no face to face tuition until September, they are still expected to pay for their accommodation next semester. This seems morally and wholly wrong. I know some Unis have said to students if you clear your room you dont need to pay, but not DD's !! Any advice? TIA

If the student loan to pay for the accommodation will still be paid then they will have the money to pay presumably? That doesn't make the universities reasonable because not all students will have a parental home to go to where they can live rent free.

I do think it's wrong of universities to say you don't have to pay if the room has been emptied of all your stuff because they can't now travel to get it so what choice do they have.
