As responsible parents, we have done our best to indoctrinate teach our offspring the excellence of 80s music and comedy. With some success Grin

I now wish to introduce my first year university student ds to the realities of flat-sharing with fellow students via the medium of The Young Ones. But many years have passed, and I no longer remember any of the shows.

Where would be a good place to start? Which show should I send him a link to, that will indoctrinate him whet his appetite for more?

If they are prone to foolishness on trains then the one where Vyvan's head screams abuse at him.

They only made two series so you might as well start at the beginning.

God I loved the Young Ones, I watched it all straight through at uni.

LynetteScavo · 17/01/2020 20:48

I was 11/12 when The Young Ones was on TV....I'm not sure I've laughed so much since. My DS is now at uni. Where can I find the episodes? YouTube?

SpoonBlender · 17/01/2020 21:03

Go straight in with series one ep 1, "Demolition". It's got everything.

CountessDracula · 20/02/2020 09:46

Just start at the beginning!
I take it they/you have seen Fresh Meat? If not I recommend it

Ginfordinner · 20/02/2020 21:29

This made me laugh out loud. I might have to revisit a few of the episodes.

I loved The Young Ones. Not least because it was on on a night my Mum worked and my Dad let me watch it - I knew full well that my Mum wouldn't let me watch it!
