UCAS application while on Gap Year

DS is currently on a gap year. He has passed three A-Level in June and wants to go to Uni next September.

He is retaking one A-Level via his previous College as he wasn't happy with his grade. He is isn't attending College lessons, but they have agreed for him to come in at the end of the current academic year and do revision sessions and they will enter him into the A-Level Exam next June 2020.

He is also studying A-Level Maths next year at home on a distance learning basis. He needs to get this to get a place on the Uni course he wants to do. He will take A-Level Maths next June 2010.

My question is, does he do his UCAS application through his old College? Or, does he do it off his own bat? The organisation who offer the distance learning A-Level Maths will supply a predicted grade (at a cost of £50).

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, there were a number of typos in my post.

Sorry for my careless typing!

Dd is reapplying via her old school, for reference etc, but she is not resitting. She needs to review her ps to mention the coming year (although no fixed plans yet) and read her updated reference. Apparently you can link this year's application to previous and avoid rekeying info but she has yet to find out how.

According to my DD her school offers to help with UCAS applications the year after leaving sixth form (as well as the current year). I don't know if this is just her school or widespread. Can your DS check with his school?

Sorry for delay in returning to thread. Had to go out!

Thank you both for your posts.

I am sure that DS's College would help with his UCAS application. However, they won't have any information about the A-Level Maths DS is doing as he is doing it independently via distance learning. This was why I was wondering if he would be best just to apply to UCAS on his own?
