Any other adults going back to school?

So I was a bit of a rebel when I was younger. I got kicked out of school but they still let me do my GCSE's. I did ok in them although I missed my maths exam because I had a hairdressers appointment 🙈 so I only got a D.

I went on to do a level 3 BTEC which I managed to pass despite spending most of my time in the pub.

When the time came to apply to uni I was as jealous of all of my friends who already had jobs so I passed on uni and went and got myself a job.

I've worked in admin pretty much my maths joke adult life. It's literally a job to pay the bills but with a mortgage to pay and 4dc to feee it's a necessity.

For a while now I've dreamed about becoming a midwife. I'm really passionate about it.

Finally decided this summer that I'm going to bite the bullet and make my dreams a reality.

My diploma doesn't have enough UCAS points to get me into the midwifery degree so I'm pretty much starting over

I've signed up for an access course at college which will be 3 days a week. I also have to do a night class to get my GCSE in maths.

I will still be working at least 16 hours a week in top of this and will be looking into doing some volunteering maybe with LLL.

So anybody else going back to school?

I did really badly at school and only have one GCSE at grade C (French!) I got an F in maths. I'm now a qualified accountant that is equivalent to a masters degree!

I studied all online at home looking after my seriously ill DS and working.

You can do so many courses now on-line. If I did it anyone can. Good Luck!
