Student finance awaiting confirmation

Just checked student finance for DS who is starting university this month and it says “awaiting confirmation”. Does anyone know if he needs to do anything as student finance said university was meant to do it. He got place there through clearing on results day (phone and email confirmation) so don’t know why it’s unconfirmed.

They are really helpful if you ring them in my experience

They are pretty useless. You'll need to ring them, and quickly if you're to get it sorted out in the next couple of weeks. Their facebook chat page is great and the people seem more knowledgable than the call centre.

It'll be fine, they are just very, very busy. DD's went through Clearing last year, so changed her from her original uni. It caught up eventually but not until after she started (Scottish uni, early September start).

They are being super inefficient this year, nothing like for my first daughter where it all worked seamlessly. We have called three times and each time they sound clueless, and say they have sent a letter asking for more information (which they haven't). Not quite sure what to do tbh
