Does anyone have any experience of Nottingham College, am trying to sort options for my ds for September?

My DD went there last year, to the Basford campus. Didn't rate it particularly, I wouldn't send DD2 there though. The cohort seemed older, DD was the youngest by far at 16. Which campus are you looking at?

Maid Marian way, the online reviews don't seem particularly good.

The problem I'm finding is if you take away the traditional 6th forms which all seem to have the same courses/qualifications there's not much else as all the colleges have merged into one. Kind of restricts the options.

My ds started the High Pavement campus in September and so far it has been pretty good. He is doing three A levels and the tutors seem on the ball and pretty supportive. He was previously at an independent school so a huge change but he is very happy there.

The issue is that pretty much most of the colleges in Nottingham are now under the Nottingham College umbrella. You need to consider which campus and the outcomes from that course. If your child is taking traditional a levels probably better to look at more formal options.

I'm trying to find something other than A levels as I'm not sure that's where he should be.

How about looking slightly further afield, obviously depending on where you are. Vision West Notts? The Roundhouse Derby College is literally at the train station in Derby?

I really wouldn't consider MM unless you absolutely have no alternative.
