Sandringham or Parmiter for Sixth

My son has got into Parmiter’s and Sandringham for sixthform, but we are unsure as to which one to chose- the subjects he is selecting are Maths, Further Maths, Economics, Possibly Physics. Can anyone give us guidance to which would be the better one? He is predicted 7/8/9’s for his results.

Which one does he prefer?

He can’t decide, hence why I posted on here otherwise we wouldn’t mind where he picks.

I only have experience of Parmiter's. They do Maths A-level in Y12 and FM in Y13 whereas I believe Sandringham do both in both years. Parmiter's also encourages EPQ in Y12 which my DS said prepared him really well for university.

Both are great schools with great results. You need to factor in where you live as Parmiter's is a bus ride for most students.

Parmiter’s seems a great school and would Be good for my daughter to go to aswell, but we live in Hatfield. Sandringham is just one bus ride but buses to Parmiter’s don’t run that often even their own which are not running from Hatfield.

If he likes both schools and his results meet the requirements for both on August 23rd, I would suggest choosing the one with ve easier journey. It will be easier for him to participate fully in the life of the school - e.g. sixth formers at our local schools are often called upon to help at out of hours events (but of course this may not be the case at either of the schools he is looking at).

Both schools have good reputations. Parmiter's is great (several of DS1's friends go there) but over an hour from Hatfield by public transport. Will you be able to drive him there every day? If not, I'd go for Sandringham.

Unless you want to spend your life in traffic on the A414 I would go for Sandringham. Most people at Parmiter's live in Watford or the west/south side of St Albans so all his friends and all the parties would be over this way. It would be fine in year 13 as most students drive but I think the journey would be long and tiring for you both in Y12.
