My son is just completing his second year at university and has run into a problem that is really causing him huge anxiety. This week he had assignments to turn in when he got food poisoning. For two of these assignments there was no problem as he emailed them to his tutors and they submitted them for him. The third one was a practical with a presentation - this should have taken place on Thursday. When he became ill on Wednesday he informed everyone involved and was told it could be re-arranged by student support. He emailed this tutor along with his presentation. 3days later student support get in touch more or less saying oops, our mistake, we are now going to cap this and you will still have to do it in July! They are also saying they want proof of his sickness now it has passed. There is a string of emails with all this in it. What can I do to help him? Feeling pretty miffed at the moment, what a colossal mess. (He has worked extremely hard to keep all his grades except one (62%) at over 70%, now they want to cap this at 40% because of their error)
