A level geography - A2 edexcel

Is there anyone who could help my DS?
He loved AS geography; he had a teacher who he gut in with/liked him, he enjoyed the subject and got good grades all the way through.

Move to A2 and he has a teacher who he doesn't like and feels she doesn't like him. He says he doesn't understand the work covered and is now very stressed about a piece of homework. He has to do a 70 mark piece, but hadn't been taught how to do it. I am way out of my depth!

Please can anyone recommend a book or a website that may help him?

Day 3 of stress

Does he just have one teacher for geography? My dcs have always had at least 2 teachers per subject at A level. If so, could he speak to the other teacher? If not, could he go to the head of department?

Could you email his teacher or head of department and say your son is struggling to understand what is required of him and ask for their advice?

Is it just him or do his classmates feel the same. If so, maybe a few of them could speak to someone together?

I teach AQA so the paper is very different but has your son got a revision guide?
Something like this one from Amazon seems to get good reviews for guidance on how to structure the 70 mark issues based essay.

stonecircle---yes he has only one teacher. she is the Deputy Head of the college but he has zero confidence about approaching her about his struggle. He thinks she is very dismissive and then draws attention to him in the next lesson, which he hates.
I have mentioned to him that I could talk to her but he is very against this, feeling again she would mention it in front of the class.
He doesn't really know his fellow class mates --- a big down side to college v sixth form in a school. They only go in for their lessons so no real socialisation time.

Lucycat- thank you, i have ordered that book. He had an AS revision guide but hasn't got an A2 one (yet!)

I haver looked at getting a tutor but can't fine one in our area. Do you ever any experience of online tutors?

ds used this website as well as this one along with his revision books in the lead up to his exams - don't think these are for any particular syllabus though.
