Has anyone any info on becoming a paramedic, I'm Ireland if possible? Is it really difficult & expensive to do?

Don't know about Ireland but it's a university degree course in the UK requiring quite high entry grades and relevant work experience.

A friend off mine did it at Glasgow Caledonian university. He actually worked on the phones in the control centre first then applied. He was about 25. He trained as a technician first and then went on the paramedic course. Go onto ambulance association websites to find out.

relevant work experience, ie with red cross or St John's ambulance, + the right driving license - this is a MUST, plus relevant academic qualifications, including good maths and English GCSE and science something at A level or equivalent, plus the right references and personal attributes.

No, not particularly hard to get in academically, for the right person.

that is, to get onto the degree course.
