Adult Nursing interview

Hi there, I'm over the moon that I have been invited to attend an interview for Adult Nursing. I'm a mature student and have working towards this for several years now. I'm really nervous and just wondered if anyone can offer any advice or give examples of any questions you have been asked? So far I've researched the 6 c's, person centred care, the nursing and midwifery council, nursing code of practice and why I want to be a nurse, what I could bring to the profession etc, etc. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you Smile

Hello! Congratulations on getting an interview, have you had it yet?

I'm a mature student, have been working towards my HNC this year and have an interview for adult nursing in three weeks time. I've been researching all the things you mentioned. My friend got in to do adult nursing last year and has also told me to mention Maslow's hierarchy of needs and to think about where I see myself in 5 years time. It might also help to look at the nursing framework on the nhs website;

Giving your thread a bump as I'd be interested to hear some more advice too. Best of luck to you! Flowers

In group discussions don't take over and try and enable others to join the discussion.
Don't be over opinionated or the biggest ego - show you can be part of a team as that is what is needed for the job
Remember you are sitting there with a bunch of kids (if they come out with a ridiculous idea - don't put them down but suggest an alternative)

And relate to the six cs often. Even with non-care related topics. Last week at a ucas event, students were told that a job in McDonalds demonstrates skills needed in support of ethos behind six cs.

Make sure you have a response to why this course?' And don't mention one born every minute or holby city!

Good luckSmile
