Hi

I'm a mother to 2 boys one nearly 2 the other is 5 months. I'm thinking of doing a access to nursing course in September. Does anyone know if the childcare is paid in full by the college? I've been working in call centers most my life and currently on maternity leave which runs out 30 sep 2014.

The answer would depend on the amount of money the college was allocated and also your circumstances in terms of eligibility. This sort of thing would need to be discussed with the college in detail

Thank you so much for your Reply I spoke to south and city college. Advice and guidance they said the college can only pay 150.00 per month which to be honest isn't enough for one child as nurseries are charging 150 per week and mathew boulton say that we can only pay for one child I really wanted to do the access this year but seems like I can't especially when they won't fund childcare. However I've been told if I do a level 2 course I e Teaching assistant they will pay 80% for both children. Is anyone eles doing the access course in Birmingham? Who also has 2 kids. Any replies much appreciated

Assuming you have a partner at home in the evening what about doing it as an evening course? It would take 2 years instead of 1.

I don't know about Brum but Wolverhampton Adult Education (not the college) do an evening only route.

Hi I don't have any help.no partner. He lives with his mom and I don't have any help with baby sitting. My son turns two on 11 august I think he will get 15 hours free and I checked with mathew boulton they pay 32 pound per day so I might spread the 15 hours free over 3 days and the younger one gets funded I think I will see what I can do in those hours. Thank you for Your reply I appriciate it but I can't do evening there is no chance of that. I wonder if doing maths and English this year would be better and next year I could skip those subjects maybe???

Do Wolverhampton or anywhere eles do a part time day over two years ??? Anyone know?

You may well find something closer but Wolves isn't that far if you can get to New St Station all trains North pass through. And there are also trams and of course buses.
