Our current fc aged 4 months is collected 3 x weekly and taken to see his family for a couple of hours. SS are constantly changing times/dates of these due to no-one being available to collect baby and supervise the contact.

To some extent I can sympathize with this, they do have other contacts which need supervision but they seem to cancel contact at the drop of a hat.

Mondays was dropped with 15 minutes notice as the workers car was in the garage.

Social work assistant arrived this morning and asked to use our loo "because contact is 3 hours today and there often isn't anyone to take over for her"

I queried the three hours as its always been 2 hour contacts and we had arranged to go for lunch as soon as lo gets back.

"Its because contact was cancelled on Monday" I was told, fair enough but would it be too much to ask that we are told the arrangements have changed.

By the time he gets back it will be too late to go out Grr

and breathe

I can only empathise. We have had so many mix-ups around contact that it is just hard to recount. Partly due to them needing to book an interpreter as our foster child's family do not speak any English but the expectations and last minute adjustments are about the most disruptive thing.
The language issue has caused so many problems - over the Christmas week, we were told there would be additional contact but noone told mum so poor girl travelled to the contact centre and there was noone there to see her - she only saw her mum twice between Christmas and the New Year when they are supposed to have contact 4 days a week.. sigh.

Tell me about it. We have 3 FC and 2 of our own. This evening they all need to be in differant places at the same time with us doing all the transport. 3 children get picked up from 3 differant schools by taxi and brought home. 1 child has detention today so asked driver to slightly vary his routine and pick the children up in a differant order (schools are only 10 mins apart) he said ok to us then went into school and said he wouldn't do it and made the school cancel detention grrrr. In her defence though our sw is lovely she is even picking a child up from contact on her day off (Sunday) just so he can see his nan.
