Fostering forums?

Just wondered if there are any fostering forums that are bit busier? I am going through the fostering application process so all info and advice helps.

A legal team that thinks it is in the children's best interest to disrupt a stable placement shouldn't be allowed to practice in family law!

Sorry Cuttsy but I don't know what you mean about a "legal team" - LA lawyers would not be involved in this kind of arrangement. This "respite" for the children is being organised by the social workers and their manager, and it seems to me that you have been given 4 or 5 different reasons, butif you feel happy with the arrangement I will not comment further.

I am still having difficulty in working out why your LA feel it is in your foster childrens best interests to go into respite care for 6weeks? You say it is because they are acting too mature - because they may have picked up things from your own older children. Are your LA having second thoughts about the foster children's placement with older, and more mature, Young People?

I am not sure what a "Legal Team" have to do with it?

This is part of the core assesment from what I am told. They look at how they are progressing....which all report fine, then if everything is ok they return to us. Six weeks does seem long. It takes 35 days for compilation. I have been told they will be back before the 6 weeks though.

Sounds a bit strange to me. Are there lawyers involved?

Your situation is not the norm. Can I ask how you are caring for 3 foster children but have not yet gone to the panel? Or have I misunderstood your post on another thread?

What reason have you been given for the FC going into a respite for 6 weeks?
