A few days ago I put up my first ever post in what I thought was a fostering group for foster parents to guide support and help each other.
i would just like to say how utterly disgusted and saddened I felt when I started getting unsavoury posts from people that I can only call keyboard warriors.
These comments like you are not fit to foster and you are clearly inexperienced you can’t even use the right terminology etc and many others- were uncalled for seeing as no one knew the whole story or anything about me
my point of this post is to say please be careful when “ attacking others “ on line you do not know the full story or the state of someone’s mental health - comments that are just not needed could do more harm than good. As it was I felt very attacked and bruised and had to call my social worker for a meeting. Who assure me I was fully experienced enough to look after the said child and they are very pleased with the progress ( even though I felt I needed some tips etc )
this forum is mesnt to be for mums to help each other and a foster mum is still a mum figure.
i won’t me posting again I’m not going to put myself out there for further attacks.
but I do thank the supporting people that spoke out for me it was kind of you. The rest of you please think twice it might be your comment that pushes someone over the edge one day ..,
