Hello!
We’ve met with our LA and filled in our application and begun the process. We have our first meeting with a social worker soon. Looking for 0-2 age group (so shorter term placements). Maybe respite/short breaks for older kids somewhere down the line.

Couple of things spinning around my head:

Neurodiversity - Our four kids and husband and I identify as neurodivergent. Only younger two kids (8.5 and nearly 10) have an autism diagnosis and I have an adhd diagnosis - anyone else been through the process with similar? I consider it a strength and we definitely gentle/therapeutic parent etc but I wonder how it would get looked upon?

My father - I’ve not seen him in about 8 years despite him living locally. He doesn’t leave his house and probably has many issues but also has zero interest in me - which is fine by me. I have no contact with him, don’t have his number etc. My older half sister who I speak to occasionally but lives away let me know when he was ill several years ago but it doesn’t extend beyond that. What happens in situations like that?

History - Husband and I have been together since we were 18 and I’m nearly 36 now so no significant exes. Would they want more references because there are no exes to ask? We’ve got a large close family and lots of good friends so I can provide as many as they need. Just not sure how many theh might want? Initial application was 3 plus husband’s employer.

Thanks!
