My name is Katie, I am a third year sociology and social anthropology student at the University of Cambridge. I am planning to write my final year dissertation on foster caring and kinship caring. I want to write a piece which reflects on the joys and difficulties of kinship/foster care, particularly looking at the ways in which our understandings of family/relatedness may expand or change as a result of this experience. My interest in foster care stems from my grandparents, who were originally kinship carers for their niece, and continued to foster many more children for 20 years. They are kindly helping with my research already, but I am hoping to find some more individuals who would be willing to share their stories with me!
If anyone would be willing to speak to me and share their incredible stories with me, I am happy to provide more details of my project. In addition, if anyone has another site that they recommend I put this research request on, I would be really grateful!
