Fostering when partially sighted

Hi, I'm new to fostering and beginning initial enquiries

I'm wondering if anybody has experience of applying when partially sighted?

My Husband has reduced peripheral vision. He is able to go about daily tasks with no assistance (shopping, cooking etc)

When I spoke to the local LA, the social worker said the panel may be quite concerned about the visual impairment.

We are registering as joint carers, but I do work 2 nights a week (this is flexible) so often a child will be in Husbands sole care

We have 2 Daughters age 4 and 6 , he cares for them solo regularly and never had any problems

Are we likely to be rejected on medical grounds?

Thanks in advance for any experiences!

I have just become a foster carer and am partially sighted.
I mentioned it in my initial enquiry phone call and it was discussed throughout the application. They want to know that ot won't affect your ability to look after children which your DH should be able to demonstrate with looking after his own.

As long as you are upfront about it they will go through any concerns they might have.
