Hi, if anyone can give me advice I would greatly appreciate it. My mother has a SGO for my brothers son and step daughter. My mother has just received a letter from the children's mother's solicitor, stating a pack lies regarding reduced contact. Contact was reduced on guidance of a social worker due to dv incident with the children's mother and new partner. It's states several totally fabricated reasons for reduced contact, basically my mother being controlling and spiteful. It also outlines dates they want the mother to have unsupervised visits, including overnight. Obviously my mother needs to speak with the children's social worker. Is there any financial support in regards to solicitors, the letter advices my mother to get her own solicitor as this may end up in court.

With an SGO your mother has parental responsibility now and they cannot just simply demand more contact.

To add to this I presume there is a reason why the children are on an SGO, so unsupervised or overnight stays may not be appropriate at all.

Your mother has done the right thing in checking with social services and they will be the best people to guide you further.

Remember anyone can claim anything they like, if it didn't happen they can't prove it. Social services are used to dealing with people lying to them constantly and they are very good at figuring out who is really at fault.
