How important are hope and empathy?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently investigating personal motivations to provide foster care, and the role that hope and empathy potentially play in discontinuation.

what the #### is discontinuation ? Am sitting here with a group of graduates and that's a new word for all of us. None of us have ever used the word or even seen it in print. You may get a better response if people understand what you are saying.

even though i had no idea what discontinuation meant I completed the survey. There were a couple of questions that i couldnt answer as they related to fostering helping achieve my goals. This made the assumption that I had goals which I havent. There was no option to state this.

Many thanks to those that have completed the survey. By 'discontinuation', I meant quitting or ending your role as a foster carer. I appreciate this maybe isn't clear. Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure that this is clearer in any future posts.
