Campaign for foster carers to get access to statutory sick pay

It's a grassroots organisation by and for foster carers to offer support, legal advice and help. In the past weeks of lockdown, we've increasingly been hearing from members that the covid-19 has caused massive disruption to their lives but there's been little recognition for the role foster carers currently play to keep over 65 thousand children safe and happy every day.
On the back of what members have shared, we're running a campaign to get sick pay for foster carers and keep foster families together.

We've got some coverage for the campaign but would be great to have more foster parents on board!

Being a foster carer is one of the most important jobs I've ever done, but incredibly insecure and badly paid. Sick pay would really help.

Saw this article out in the Independent from one foster carer who became sick and was unable to get medial attention for fear that her foster child wouldn't be properly looked after. Awful.

I'd be interested to hear actually - have any other foster carers on here been sick with Covid during the crisis? And how was this dealt with by your employer?
