Foster Carer Support

If anybody is or has been a foster carer in the last five years or knows anyone who this applies to, I would be very grateful if you could take a few minutes to fill out my dissertation survey on foster carer support by following the link below. The survey investigates support available to foster carers. Thank you in advance 😊

‘Are you a foster carer, or have you been in the last 5 years? If you answered yes, then you are invited to take part in an online study interested in finding out how foster carers feel about the support they receive from fostering agencies and those close to them. The study is run by a student researcher at the University of Chester and should take about 10-15 minutes. Please click on the link provided to read the participant information sheet where you will be directed to the online study if you decide to take part. Please note that you are free to withdraw from the study at any point.’

what guarantees are there on confidentiality ?

ChildPsychStudent · 16/04/2020 21:26

Hi, thanks for your question f0stercarer! The survey link takes you directly to an information screen which explains the purpose of the study as well as how confidentiality will work etc.

The survey will not ask you for any personal identifiable information. It will ask you questions about your demographics (such as age, gender and race) but you are under no obligation to answer these questions or can select a ‘prefer not to say’ option. All aspects of the survey will be completely anonymous and confidential, meaning that no personal information will be required.

I hope this helps but if you have any further questions i'm happy to help!

I have completed and submitted. Note to other foster carers (past and present) : This is a simple survey that is not intrusive to complete.

ChildPsychStudent · 17/04/2020 18:27

Thanks so much for completing the survey and giving feedback! It's very much appreciated!

Hi everybody, I’m currently doing my Family & Child Psychology dissertation on foster carer support and am nearing my target of survey participants so would be hugely grateful if anybody could spare a few minutes to fill out my online survey by following the link below. Before being invited to fill out the survey, you will be taken to an information screen explaining the study’s purpose etc and any information you provide will be completely anonymous and confidential. Thank you in advance 😊
