I'm looking into fostering

I really want to get into fostering, I'm married and renting but we have a spare room, I would be willing to make fostering my career but worry that obviously when you don't have a child you don't get paid, is it likely they'll be times when I wouldn't have a child?

Yes, a friend of mine currently fosters three kids and they are all about to go in a month - she was getting nearly £1000 a week for their care.

However, much of that went on childcare as they were under 4 and now that income will completely go - a huge drop!

She doesn’t know when they will get their next placement, although she likes doing it she said it’s hard work and she is going to enjoy a break!

Good luck either way - it’s a very worthwhile thing to do :)

if she is able to take a sibling group of 3 she wont be "empty" for long ! Lots of sibling groups that need to be kept together.
