We are thinking of becoming a connected persons foster carer, but not sure weather we can afford to do this, as my partner will initially have to give up work, so my question is what benefits can I claim? I understand that it will be universal tax credit but i've never claimed benefits before so i'm in the dark, I work part time and earn around 12,500, I also have savings around 8k and i'm hoping this will not affect any benefits i may be entitled to? Is there anyone who is a foster carer and in a similar position and can give me any advise.
