Hi
Is the move from you to another foster carer or kinship carer, adoption or back home. I have had children move back home, kinship care and adoption all a planned move. I have also received children from foster carer which was planned. Just let me know which one and I will try and tell you what was involved.

The child has been with the fc for three years and it's a planned move to me for a long term placement . Originally they were going to tell him he was moving then they said it would be the following week as he'd just gone back to school then the following week they were busy then I've been told there is a professionals meeting but it's always been going to be a planned move . I just wondered in what circumstances do planned moves happen and what's involved . I presume it's because he is settled and has been there three years that they need to prepare him ?

Hi
I would think it would be very similar to a move to adoption where previous foster carer prepares the child and that you visit them and the foster child and carer visit you. It will all depend on age of the child and that will determine how long introductions will be. The professionals meeting should involve you and current carer. I live in Scotland so it may be different where you are.
