Hello brand new to this site :) does anyone have advice on LCC fostering waiting times pleeease, i had my home visit a month ago and havent heard a peep since :( the guy who came said id hear from them within two weeks

What is lcc is this local authority i.e. Being employed by social services ?

It could be down to timing
Lots of SW are off in the summer holidays. Non urgent services can grind to a halt.
Its not just SW who have to take time off but support staff and the people they need to contact for references i.e.teachers, GPs etc.

Is that to hear if you are going to start the assessment process to become a foster career? I would agree that it is probably due to holidays and workers having to cover for colleagues. Give the guy a call and see where they are at? It won't go against you for being proactive. They are looking for people who are happy to pick up the phone and make contact with social work.

Ring fca they won't mess about private fostering as they have resources for support.

Hi I'm with LCC and from when I first enquired about adoption it took 18 months to get back to me.

We are the same, we did our skills to foster course and got told someone would be in touch about becoming our supervising social worker. I've rang the social worker who did the first visit, left a message and texted but still nothing.
