I've always found them ok.
I make sure I've got everything written down. I go through diary sheets for the last 6 months and then when they ask me anything I have it there in front of me.
Also any questions I need answering and anything I want them to do.
What is it that bothers you do much?

I find them useful. The IRO has much more power to get SWs to do things than I do!

Like Cassimin I go in with a list of things that need addressing, and aim to get dates in place for any action points before I leave.

They just drone on for so long, saying the same thing over and over, it could all be done in a quarter of the time if they were just succinct

They make a decision about something minor at one review then six months later a new reviewing officer has a different point of view. There is no major issues as child is long term. It is not just this child but all children i have had, perhaps its my la that are rubbish.

And it is always such an uncomfortable room, yesterday the sun was streaming in the windows which didn't have blinds nor did they open making me hot and uncomfortable and squinting
