Fostering and an arrest

I had a question about fostering. My DH and I are interested in fostering, but we have both been arrested for a crime against a child. The charges were later dropped, it never went to court and there was no conviction.

My DH and I are both innocent and have never and would never harm a child. We worry that the false allegations will have a negative impact against us fostering. Does anyone know whether they take arrests into account if there was no conviction?

The arrests were in a foreign country and we are in the UK now.

Can you elaborate a little on what you were arrested for and why?

It was a sexual offense. We were arrested because we were accused of harming a child. We were then arrested, it was investigated and then the charges were dropped. We both passed a lie detector test, the charges were obscure, stories didn't match up, there was a lack of evidence, etc.
