We foster for our Local Authority and have decided to move over to a private agency. We have been told our first move has to be a letter of intent to our Local Authority does anyone know how we world this letter?

It's basically a letter saying you intend to resign. I presume you have children in placement now? If you just resign, it will run off in 28 days. However, if you show intent, the children will remain with you, there will be a protocol meeting between the IFA and LA and when you are approved by the new agency, your registration as a carer will transfer.

Once you show your intention, be prepared for them to try and change your mind!
