Allowance for your teens?

DFD is 15. For various reasons, she will not, without battle, do household chores.

Bearing this in mind, she gets £20 per month pocket money, £20 pm clothing allowance, £20 pm savings, £7 for her phone. I also buy essentials and basics.

She can earn extra by helping in the house or garden, but refuses. she says she doesn't receive enough cash and wants more. I will pay £10 to clean my car for instance, but no interest.

Please divulge your allowances and methods for your teens

thanks in advance Smile

Allowances are set by our agency. We have the same savings and clothing as you but it's £10 per week pocket money. I've never paid extra for jobs. Once current DFD turned 15 she got a weekend job for extra cash. I do expect her to help around the house regardless when asked, as she is a member of the family and we all muck in. I didn't ever pay my own children for chores either.

thanks, my LA doesn't have any guidelines for pocket money, so it varies massively.
