It stands for Training, Support and Development Standards.

Is your social worker not offering any support or advice to help you fill it in? I’d ask them initially, they really should be giving a bit of support with it.

My main tips would be:
Use real examples (anonymised)
List any training or reading that is relevant.
Use bullet points to answer instead of writing long answers.

I’d also advise not to worry what order you do the questions in.... look through and find one that you feel confident in answering and do that one first. Email that to you social worker and ask if you’re on the right track, and if not then for some advice on what they want.

TDS
We are not really a supportive group are we.
Iv asked for help along with loads of others . But from what I see I haven’t had a single offer of help.
For someone that hasn’t been to school for 40 yrs I seriously don’t have a clue

I think it’s just that you can’t really put generic answers, they are very personal and based on your own experiences. So seeing someone else’s isn’t as helpful as it might be thought and also it can be a bit of a confidentiality problem if a specific situation gets recognised.

Just starting our fostering journey. Any help and advice on completing TDS or in general would be gratefully received! I've been advised to start completing now but am struggling as we do not have a child placed with us yet. I have been a teacher for many years and have lots of relevant experience/ courses. I do have children of my own and have cared for/ supported family through the years. Is any of that applicable to use as experience?

In a way (not meaning I want others to struggle) but it was good to read this post and know im not the only one finding this hard. Care and well wishes to you all. :)

Does anyone have a live example of the Fostering TDS completed workbook?
I am obviously not going to copy as our experieces are unique & individual & a reflection of our experience but just need to get the gist of it?
We have had a very disruptive & busy introduction to Fostering & our Annual review is looming!

Fostering my grandchildren can anyone send me a completed tds obviously my answers will relate to my circumstances but I'm really struggling trying to do this and look after twin 2 year olds

Hi guys. hope your all well.
I could do with some help please. I have just become a foster carer and can not wait to start my new journey and chapter in life.
I could do with help with filling in the TSDS workbook. I have been attending the workshops and taking note, but I am struggling on what to write, especially when it asks for examples. If anyone has done this please can you send me a copy so i can get ideas. I will not copy any of your work. Its just simply to get ideas on what and how to write the answers. Hi was approved 2 years ago in lockdown, have a child in my placement for 2years and have only just been given the Tsd workbook to complete asap. Have SW coming today can anyone send me theirs so it can help me get started.. won't copy just need to know if I'm doing it right.

It really is up to your ssw to give you all the help you need to complete this. It will reflect badly on your agency/local authority if this is not completed satisfactorily so put the onus on THEM to give you what information you require to complete this. Make sure you keep a record of requests you have made to them for help (make them by email). If you dont get a response follow up with "following on from my emails of x and y date I still require guidance and advice on ...." Dont let them dump on you, make them give you training and guidance to complete what is required. It is their responsibility.

be aware that it is a big problem for your ssw and your la/agency if this isnt done so they should be motivated to give you all the help that you need.

Hi everyone, I've been working on this myself all weekend.

I found a 2016 completed example here;
