tax question

Hi all. I wonder if anyone can give some advice on registering as self employed.
Do I need to register straight away? Or just file a tax return at the end of the year?
Can I just do it online and also do I need to keep receipts for everything?
Any advice much appreciated. :) x

You do need to register as self employed, it can be done online im not quite sure how i just rang up and it was done in 3 minutes. There are two ways to do the tax return, one requires you keep all receipts and is more complicated, the other is an 10,00 + allowance per child per week.
