Your first placement

Hi all, I know this varies widely, but was just wondering what people's experiences were... How long after approval did you get your first placement, and is there a big difference in time frames between LA's and agencies? x

3 weeks for us, although the current wait with our LA is up to 9 months. Because of the quickening in timescales for court proceedings, little ones are staying for less time meaning there are more foster carers waiting for a placement. There is a feeling of over-recruitment amongst foster carers in our LA.
Are you LA or IFA? Short or long term? What age group? I think these all make a difference!

We're IFA. 8 - 18 age group short term and 0 - 18 respite. We also have preferences for disabled children.
We only passed panel 2 weeks ago so not expecting anything just yet anyway.
We got our ID badges and a few other 'formality' forms to fill in this morning. I can't wait to get started.
