Thinking Of Fostering

hello all m thinking of fostering and i have few questions. i have started to look for homes but can you get approved before you find a home as i will need job with the fostering and i will be doing voluntary at a school in september as a learning mentor then hope to get the same type of job or be TA but i do have plans to go uni? would that affect the fostering? also im 19 and have spicel needs so do you think i will get approvred?

Hi, you do have to be 21 to be a foster parent.

So that could fit into your uni plans, apply after you've finished perhaps.

You don't say what your special needs are, they may or may not affect your chances of being accepted.

Also I believe you do need to have a suitably sized home before you begin the assessment.

@HugeFurryWishingStool - thanks for replying yeah some places want over 21s but i have seen some that said 18 and over like on be my parenet? oh yeh sorry about that my special needs is learning diffcultys and it mainy affected me at school
