Panel today and so pleased to find we have been approved to care for 0-2 years.
Just wanted to thank everyone here who has replied to posts and reassured me throughout our application. I have especially enjoyed the high point of the week thread which showed some of the best bits about fostering.
Sure I will be here soon asking for more advice but thanks again :)

Congratulations! You must be so pleased-it's a lovely feeling to have finally finished the process....now the real exitement begins!!

Hope it's not too long before your first placement (I had to wait three weeks and jumped everytime the phone rang..!)

Yay! Congratulations Tulips. It's been 3 weeks since our approval, still waiting but sure it won't be long now (hopefully)! Good luck with everything. :)

Thanks to all :)

We had our 1st home visit in May, Skills to Foster course in Sept, so has taken approx 9 months.

Have just contacted work to let them know I will be leaving as I didn't want to find myself unable to take a placement due to my part time job but also apprehensive about giving up a good job if we don't know when we will get our 1st placement! Our LA seem to think we will not be waiting too long though so will update when we hear anything.

Oh FAB Tulips...give yourselves a huge pat on the back...

Now the hard work really starts (lol)... I remember feeling 'yikes.. they've left me with 2 kids' when we got our first placement and not remembering any of the termanology etc... don't worry if that happens... its normal!!!
