hi
I wonder if anyone can offer any advice. I am mid thirties mum of three, married, sahm, own home. Not sure if any of this is relevant so far! My eldest son is 5 and his close friend from schools mum recently died. It looks like this boy is going to be put into care. My husband and I could offer him a home and would like to foster/adopt him but haven't got the foggiest idea where to star. Am hoping someone can give me a few pointers. Any info greatly appreciated thanks xx

That is lovely of you. Where is he staying at the moment? Did she know she was dying? If so do you think she stated what she wanted to happen? Is dad off the scene? I guess ringing social services would be the best place to start.
Best of luck xxx

If he has no viable family you could offer yourself as a kinship carer.

First port of call social services

And well done you for thinking of this lad

Contact social services.

Does the child know you or just your son? Do you have a spare room for him?
