To be honest unless the parents are way off they are usually quite well behaved during these meetings as its their chance to show their good side so to speak

My fc mum used to kick off all the time curse out the sw then during the lack reviews she was a nice a pie we used to sit in wonder

But one thing I would be careful of is child's sw trying to back track or wriggle out of things.

I had one and it was better than i thought. i was more worried about seeing the mum for the first time and any resentment i might find.
But there were so many other people there it felt safe. But each one is different isn't it..

How long after the children come into care does the review happen? How long did it last?

BusterTheDonk · 27/10/2011 18:25

Sure someone will come along and say what the law states... but we had one a month after the kids first arrived, then one every 3 months, but then when proceedings issued, one 6 months later... just been told final hearing will be spring next year, and another LAC review has to happen before then...

Ours have lasted approx 30 mins each time.. depends on who is present and what issues are raised... I think that's why I am so stressed beforehand, one was very volatile and you just don't know what you are walking into...

Thankfully our SSW made this one so I had some moral support Grin

Thanks Buster, interesting. My lo has been here 6 weeks and no mention of a review yet!
Was supposed to have a meeting with my link worker and childs social worker and that hasn't happened either.
