the social worker or family support officer has given out my "private" mobile number that I have asked explicitly is not given out, I have a cheap pay as you go mobile that I'm happy for parents to be given.

just needed to vent - can you imagine if I did the same with their private numbers?

the hospital gave mum my address!!! She then told me she stopped outside our house and told her boyfriend, 'thats where my kids are asleep'...

Some aspects of this job are beyond belief!!

That's well off. Did anyone say why it was given out? Can you tell them that you've got a new mobile and the other number won't work? And then give the PAYG as your actual number, even though it's not?

I only found out after office hours. The couple know what I have a private and a personal number, shall leave the SWD to deal with the mess.

I wrote a confidential report for the review and ticked the box that said I didnt want the family to see what I had written and somehow they did. First I heard a family member was ready to kill me.

I know of someone who gave an anonymous social service referral report,

only for the social worker to show the original report to family, therefore they found out who it was and there was MAJOR trouble

Squidgy that's awful. I know it would be a real pain, but any chance you could change your private number and only give SW your public one? Don't they understand their own confidentiality policies or data protection????? I sincerely hope you ar egoing to kick up a stink!

not really I got a "I asked for your number to give them and that is the one I was given" The parents were told that she had made a mistake and that it was an old number she had given me.

Shaz it is a contract phone which I have another 12 months on, so no real way of changing it, in this case it isn't really a huge problem as LO's parents are actually really lovely

you should still be able to change the number and continue ur contract... i have done that recently due to nuisance calls
