Oh dear ,I,v just had a call from a lady at ofsted to say we have been selected for a home visit tomorrow morning .
They are currently inspecting the agency we foster for .
The trouble is I dont know what to expect ,will they need training certificates and records etc? ,because the agency has these as I put them in with my completed cwdc and havnt recieved them back yet .
The agency told us they were being inspected and we could get randomly chosen ,but I thought we would have been given more notice ,we are going on holiday early the next day.
Has anyone else had a visit from ofsted ?
Anyway off to start cleaning up now haha.

Hi Caz, I was selected by ofsted just a few months after I was approved.Don't worry at all, they are there to look at how much support the agency give you they're not assessing you as a carer (no need to specially clean the fridge!)

The lady that came to see me was really nice, and asked about how I found the initial training, assessment and level of support I get from my supervising social workers. She didn't ask to see any of my certificates etc, but did ask what information/resources the agency gave me e.g. their guide to foster carers - so just check you can remember what they've given you.

I am really pleased with the support I've had from my agency, and told ofsted this - but the inspectors made it clear that if there was anything I was unhappy with, it was fine to say and that it wouldn't have any implications for me. TBH it was nice, shortly after my assessment, to have the chance to reflect on it all and a chance to help my agency out. So don't worry you'll be fine :)

Thankyou redgate ,Im not sure about the support we get from our agency to be honest,we are on our 4th s/w in a year, but they,ve all been really nice.
Anyway I,ll see how it goes tomorrow ,oh and I didnt go as far as cleaning the fridge out lol :)
