I wouldn't buy anything. They will buy/supply stuff when you get a placement. You will not be expected to use your money for this, only if they suggest you do this and then claim it back. Good luck

If you're going with LA then they won't buy anything - you're expected to supply it all. And no, you can't claim it back, I've tried!

My LA would also expect the room to be ready when you went to panel as they can place a child with you the same day.

we are going with our local LA and their website says you will be provided with certain equipment that will be used by the child eg baby equipment

I am with the LA and they are very mindful you shouldn't be out of pocket. I guess Scarlet, it is different with each authority and oliver22 should find out, although if the website says that it seems they think along the same lines as our LA.

Yes my la allow you to claim it all back.

I'm with an LA and I have found them to be absolutely brilliant regarding providing us with anything we need.... the very next day we had 2 cots, a double buggy, high chairs etc etc...

I think you need to double check with your SSW - anything we needed urgently we bought ourselves the day the kids arrived and claimed it back.
