Tax allowances for carers 2011

Does anyone know the allowances for foster carers? I have last years but are this years any different?

It will be my 1st return, as still in 1st placement - 9 months on.

It should be the same, £10,000 tax-free plus £250/week/child.
That's what I've based my numbers on, anyway!

We have been advised that the fixed amount remains at £10,000 for the full 52 weeks, or a proprtion of £10000 if you have only worked for part of the year.

Plus a weekly amount based on the age of the foster child placed with you.
Child aged under 11 - £200 a week
Child aged 11 or older - £250 a week

A week starts on Monday and ends Sunday

If you do show a profit it is taxable after you have set your personal allowance against it, £6475 for last tax year.
