I'm guessing sods law is just about to kick in!

Have been approved now for a month, and no placements!

Now I have a bad cold, feeling rotten, the kids are due to break up tomorrow for a fortnights holiday, oh and DH is due to fly off on Sunday for about a week and a half for work - whats the bets the phone rings with a match

You should plan a night out and really look forward to it, book a manicure and a hair cut, its guaranteed to get that phone ringing!

LOL - we have already tried that! We got MIL and FIL to look after the kids for the weekend, and still nothing!!

Did think that sods law might kick in last time DH had to leave the country - again no

but this time, I think we are tempting it just a little too much.....still no matter what happens I am sure I will cope some how :)

Cold and windy too-wondering if you are near me because our kids are getting two weeks too!?

We are hoping to go to panel in Jan, won't know how i will feel like when i am waiting for a placement!! x

morethanyoubargainfor · 01/10/2010 19:05

Book a hoilday, that what we did!

We were aprroved May 2009 we got our first placement (long term) in August the day before we were due to fly out! We were asked if we could take t him with us, we had to say No as everything was booked for the 3 of us. The little lad joined us 3 days after our return and on the sam eday my DH had to go to NYC for work for a week!

We had only had 3 previous placements and the longest was for 4 weeks.

The phone will ring when you leat expect it to.

threeandcounting - quite possibly I am in Angus :) Good luck when January comes around, although I am sure you won't need it :)

Morethanyoubargainfor - well we have booked a few days away at the end of Oct - and have even had to book respite just incase as we aren't taking our 3 sprogs

so really I am tempting as hard as I can! A fellow carer has said that the October holidays tend to be busy. I do just keep reminding myself that it is a good thing that a little person doesn't need to come stay with us

We've had a call again regarding two little ones, looks like its on again. I'll try not to get exited this time.

Our kids get a week off half term, plus three days teacher training days.

Are you going anywhere nice?

SquidgyBrain · 02/10/2010 11:25

oooh fingers crossed for you! It is so hard to not get excited tho!!

No not going anywhere got some family and friends coming up so will spend some time with them, did think about trying to get away but with DH in Norway not really going to happen

what about you?
