Wasn't sure if you were entitled to MOD if you actually worked for them but as a civvy

As far as I know, no. Some MOD-employed civilians get quartering/messing, especially overseas. Also, some TA/RAAF/RFA types can get quartering/messing if they're being employed long-term (FTRS) but I think it's very much determined by the individual circumstances.
