I have been army wife for 15 years and it never changes and i'm sure it never will !!!!

luciemule · 29/06/2010 17:54

I've luckily been an army wife for almost 10 years and never come across anything so out of place or rude. I'm sure there are many people like this but thankfully, I've never met them. Booey, don't let this example put oyu off

This is why we have always had our own place and never lived on a patch. V grateful that in Brussels we have hirings and no patch. Mind you, one RAF sgts wife got snotty about my car being an 'Officers car', when in fact it was a good price and bought for the boot space for all the exercise books I had to mark each night!

luciemule · 01/07/2010 18:17

What car is it then scary? That's so funny.

TrinityRhino · 01/07/2010 18:19

we never experienced this

GypsyMoth · 01/07/2010 18:23

Lucie - a 1998 (so S reg) 2.3 litre Saab 95 light pressure turbo, bought for £5k, and will go til it drops. It is like a tank, which was great for meeting oncoming tractors in narrow lanes in Cornwall, and is equally great for driving in Belgium where they drive like loons.

luciemule · 02/07/2010 14:35

Sounds fab scary. I love cars like that. We have boring volvo but I love it .

scaryteacher · 04/07/2010 17:52

I threatened dh with a Volvo, and he took the bait and looked at Saabs, so I got the first Saab (the current one is the 4th) and have stayed with them thereafter.
